Dr. Lawrence Weber

A native of New York City, Dr. Lawrence Weber received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Tory, New York and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmacology from Weil Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences / Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York.
Dr. Weber received his medical degree from Weil Cornell University Medical College in New York, New York. He completed his general surgery internship at the Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York, and his orthopedic surgery residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine / North Shore University Hospital-Long Island Jewish Health Care System. Dr. Weber completed orthopedic fellowships in both Shoulder / Elbow and Hand Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Health Care System in Philadelphia, PA in July, 2009.
While working towards his Ph.D., Dr. Weber was a member of the first laboratory in the United States to show that monoclonal antibodies can effectively produce tumor regression in patients with solid tumors and among the first to develop DNA/gene therapy vaccines for use in people with cancer.
He was awarded the American Society for Surgery of the Hand’s Joseph H. Boyes Award in 2006, it’s prestigious honor bestowed for the Nation’s best research in Hand Surgery.
Dr. Weber has presented his research at numerous regional and national meetings and is active in the education of other surgeons, fellows, and residents. He is a candidate member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Association for Hand Surgery, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
